The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

Whether you've got low or high-pile carpet, there's a robot vacuum for you. These machines are intelligent and can automatically navigate your home, suck up debris and even clean under furniture.

Many have advanced features like mapping, which allows them to navigate around your home and keep track of furniture positioning. They can also boost suction power to tackle dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba by iRobot is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that performs well on both bare flooring and low-pile floor carpet. It has a good suction and is able to clean up most debris, though it has trouble with larger debris like sand or rice. It also does a decent job of removing pet hair however it isn't immune to tangling like top Roomba models, such as the I6 or j7.

The Roomba is easy to use. It has three buttons on its top cover: 'Clean' launches an entire cleaning cycle and 'Dock' places it back into its charging station, and 'Spot Clean' triggers an targeted clean. It can be controlled with an app on your smartphone that lets you program or stop/start cycles as well as alter settings. You can also connect the device to smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant to control it via voice.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than some others, but can still be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It comes with a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It's compatible with digital maps and virtual barriers which let you make it impossible to clean certain areas or stop cleaning altogether in order to prevent it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the top in its price range but it's still superior to other models. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with superior cleaning performance on carpets that are low and bare. It also has a more durable battery and a more efficient path. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, costs less over its life and charges faster than 694.

It's also worth looking at other, more premium models in the iRobot line, such as the 981 or the v7. The 981 and v7 are more expensive, but they have significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily and are more a breeze to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does a good job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors.  best robot vacuum  can reach into edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt off mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a tiny footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. The smart-pathing technology allows for superior maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective, although it can get stuck on the tassels of the rug.

During our tests in our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair well, clearing huge amounts of hair from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able to navigate chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice it was a bit slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge and is more capable of getting over obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that can handle sticky mess. The iRobot is, however, feels better built, has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance and has lower ongoing costs, and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion application. It can even resume the cleaning process from where it left off if it is unable to recharge its battery prior to finishing the job. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around but it does provide great cleaning power for a low price. This vacuum was designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't require a complicated mapping system, or even an application to control it. The robot is able to last for more than an hour. It includes a remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice departure from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S was successful in our tests to remove larger particles and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to provide medium and high pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is capable to bump into people and furniture in its course. However, it is able to detect these obstacles using sensors. When it encounters them, it ceases to move and emits an alarm so that you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust suction strength based on the type of floor and the level of the mess. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to the desired area.

Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the space you want to vacuum. The eufy will spend 30 minutes focusing on cleaning the area that it's assigned to.

You can also select Edge Cleaning that limits the amount of time spent in each area to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling pattern, cleaning corners and edges.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a fantastic mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on floors that are not bare is also exceptional. It can remove small particles such as rice easily and doesn't lose suction efficiency even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design traps allergens to keep your family safe. It has an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you don't need additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It's not as powerful as pricier models, but it's still ideal for fighting dirt and deep cleaning. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide live feeds of images on your smartphone, and it has one of the best obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It has a huge bin, a long runtime and the ability to clean up quickly and without bumps.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots because it can switch between a standard head and a turbo for different kinds of flooring. The turbo head is ideal for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead works well on unfinished floors and light rug. It also has an automatic height adjustment system which lets it easily adapt to different kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model comes with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on hard floors and carpets of medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can get into difficult spots. It comes with five different surface adjustments and a switch that stops the brushroll to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll, an UtraClean mode that cycles across the same area three times to give the best cleaning possible, and a self-emptying dustbin which can be filled with the press of the button. The noise level of this model is more pronounced than other models. However its powerful motor of 1,200 watts and sturdy construction justify the additional cost.

If you're willing a bit more it's worth it. Miele Complete C3 is an excellent all-round robot vacuum that is more effective on carpet than the Classic C1. It performs better on any type of flooring, is more solidly constructed and comes with an HEPA filter.
